It is so important to maintain contact with your attorney. If you move, give your attorney your new address. If you change email addresses or phone numbers, make sure your attorney has the new information. It is of paramount importance because things can sometimes move fast and your attorney needs to know how to reach you. The number one complaint of all clients, and rightfully so for sure, is that their lawyer never returns their calls or it takes a long time. Well, if your lawyer does not have your latest number, then how can he/she call you? What really makes no sense at all, however, is when a client will not call me back or email a response, but rather just ignores me. How can that be good for their case? The simple answer is that IT CAN’T! When your lawyer contacts you and leaves a message, it is just as important for you to reach back to he/she as chances are, there is an important reason they are calling you, unless of course your lawyer is your spouse or significant other, in which case the only advice I can give you is to get another lawyer. That’s all for now.
